Ecoc'îles

Ecoc'îles

A competitive and cooperative game exploring pollution dynamics, the management of common resources, and the risks of ecocide.

Écoc’île

Ecoc'îles is a cooperative and competitive serious game designed by the GAMAE platform as part of the ANR MetHalo project. It offers a systemic approach to issues related to pollution and ecocide, drawing on an interdisciplinary scientific model.

Players take control of islands within the same archipelago. Each player seeks to ensure the development and prosperity of their own island while preserving shared resources and limiting the pollution generated by their activities.

The game therefore confronts participants with the tension between individual interests and collective management. Each player's decisions can affect the entire archipelago, encouraging participants to cooperate while pursuing their own objectives.

Through production, resource management and cooperation between the different islands, Ecoc'îles provides a playful way to explore complex environmental issues and the interactions between human activities, pollution and environmental dynamics.

Ecoc'îles can be used as a tool for awareness-raising, education or discussion with a wide range of audiences. It provides an opportunity to better understand the mechanisms underlying environmental degradation and to encourage collective discussion about ways to prevent it.
